SRJ - And The There Was One. CD-R. June 2008 ( FCD09) (ltd. 100)
Proud to announce the release of this new album recorded in three totally improvised, short and seriously crazy sessions with old friend out the woodwork Steve Frizby on mind blowing electric guitar and his new partner Roz with the vocal transmitting of other realities as as well as her beautiful interpretation of this one. I play guitar, percussion, voice and a bit of clarinet. We are very proud of the collection of sounds and amazed at the spontaneity and synergy of our coming together musically and sonically. I hope you get to hear it! Free download on request (inc. artwork) or CD-R £3. Ask and ye shall receive. It is art for enjoyment. ; ).

The
Tajalli Vortex - Sound Paint. CD-R. 10th June 2007
(FCD08) (ltd.100)
Live
at Klinker Club, London on 7th June & Warrington Pyramid
Hall on 12th May 2007. These two hugely gratifying sets
contain some great live noise and promise to take you
on various dizzying journeys into the musical vortex of
the Tajallis. In London the group were joined for the
latter section by renowned electronic duo Raagnagrok adding
even more sonic boomshanka to the heady live output.
Drawing on a huge range of experience and influences,
the various members of this collective, are together nuking
the boundaries of genre, displaying little or no regard
to convention resulting in something that can only be
described as a kind of space-punk-free-improv... Screwed
up yet beautiful female vocal mix with loud twisted synths
while heavily processed and funky bass guitar scraps with
percussive tribal insanity and searing saxophones. It
seems there is little this unit wouldn't try out as their
no holds barred live free noise hits the fan which they
appear to have created (the vortex?). Very little planning,
if any, goes into a Vortex gig and you'd be forgiven for
thinking otherwise as the group drive their sonic ship
with total conviction, exuding powerful moods, loud driving
beats and deep, hypnotic movements to which there can
only be surrender. The Vortex awaits you!

The
Tajalli Vortex - The Tajalli Vortex. CD. 26th April 2007
(FCD07) (ltd.200)
Well worth the wait for the newest Freenoise addition.
Limited to only 200, this 75 minute 'white knuckle ride
into the severest improvisations' are highlights recorded
'in the earth' entirely live at sessions over the '06-'07
winter months. TTV are a newish five piece group of established
and energetic free-musicians whose influences include
punk, free-improv and jazz, psychedelic rock and krautrock,
standing at the forefront of the new-experimental wave
in the renowned musical city of Sheffield, UK.
Eerie and atmospheric female and male vocals, deep sythn,
percussion, bass and reed noises gradually rise to kinetic
and howling psycho-rock slightly remenisscent of a Velvets
/ Hawkwind / Throbbing Gristle crossover! Very exciting
and at times uneasy listening - certainly difficult to
take in one sitting unless of course you're prepared for
a long trip! Includes guest appearance from Martin Archer
- sopranino saxophone. Pioneering in the UK free noise
movement the Vortex have taken the most extreme free music
ever and filed it away under history. They have found
The Art. On 26th April 2007 in Sheffield the group performed
a historic gig with Damo Suzuki (Can) and improv collective
Gated Community. The gig set a precedent for outer limits
of free music..

Navigations - Dirt Mummies and Bloody Amps. 12" Vinyl
(ltd.200)
July 2006
First
full-length vinyl release from Phil Todd in a dogs
age collects a bucket of totally great duo and trio moves
(featuring Phil Legard and Mel Delaney) recorded Dec 2005-Mar
2006 that combine totally wiped-out modally-inflected
metal with throats full of magnetic tone, light-blurred
angel vox and shots of pure white flash for some fully
illuminated candyfloss ritual. . ..now that their existence
is no longer primarily subterranean they (Ashtray Navigations)
do making fucking great psych/rock power blues and this
is another thrilling instalment. Limited to only 200 copies
in stuck-on handmade sleeves. Highly recommended. - Volcanic

Thee
Free - 'Welcome to Liberty City' (FCD06) CD-R
(ltd.50). Out 23 Jan 07
The
most inventive and progressive album so far from Thee
Free. At times imaginative and always very free, even
when soaked in (sporadic) heavy rhythms or walls of harsh
noise. Mangled radio output and voice samples blend with
abusive storms of coloured noise, drums, clarinet, flutes
and heavy electric guitars make twisted and psychedelic
appearances. Certain tracks show how the total (sometimes
very gradual) deterioration of a 'tune' can amount to
something just as, if not more, engaging. We are also
offered hope from the words of a yogi in the midst of
this warped sonic landscape during 'Juice Bug'... 'Coily'
was recorded on the day of the announcement of Coil artist
Johnn Balance's passing. The album title is in tribute
to Mark Stewart and the Mafia's track 'Liberty City',
appearing on 'Learning to Cope with Cowardice', a hugely
significant album of the early eighties, musically and
otherwise.
Seven lengthy tracks (56 mins total) from the archives
of 2006 TF's sessions; stimulating and truly experimental,
resulting in a powerful underground album.

Turbo
Geek: Assourdissant (FCD004) (ltd. 50) Released 13.3.06.
Extremely
loud kid-mayhem! Very rare - 50 only. Turbo Geek (a.k.a.
David Smith) is a 16 year old eccentric noise-child prodigy
who sites extremes such as Cage, Fursaxa and Throbbing
Gristle among his influences. Excellent production. Acoustic
and electronic techniques are used in a highly sophisticated
and wayward, anarchic manner; also extremely harsh and
dark in places and one may wonder of the deep angst today's
youth are harbouring! Watch out for Turbo Geek! "I
hope this hurts your ears.." TG

Thee
Free: Student Life - Brain Death (FCD03) (ltd.50)
Released 31.1.06
Newly
released on Freenoise Jan 31st 2006 we are very chuffed
by this totally insane album.
Put Lightning Bolt, Merzbow, Napalm Death and Cabaret
Voltaire into a padded studio on angel dust for a week.
Seventy two minutes of total all out psychic assault!
Due to the huge variety of influences and input in this
project you will not feel overloaded after a full sitting,
but enthused, inspired and satisfied to the sonic hilt.
Breakneck elec guitar, walls of ultra-frequency noise,
sci-fi soundscapes, huge mythical underground machinery
churns up the faery folk ... Totally nasty, freaky, obscene
'headphones or missis out only' stuff!
Track 11- 'Omnihomohypgnopathy' on Freenoise: Fusion is
from this album. Ltd. (100)

GodOnlyKnows.:
Format (FCD02) (ltd.100) Released 15.2.06
Format
(FCD02) An exercise in proto-industrial noise dada;
big twisted beats and classic lo-fi glitchery from
the Sheffield school of noise. Hints of Sylvian,
Coil & Eno type abstract and dark melodies sit
well among the abrasive electronic skullduggery
reminiscent of Throbbing Gristle. Lo-fi jazz loops
cascade over sqeals of death on a rollercoast ride
into hell and back while quirky minimalist hip-hop
styles battle it out with a sophisticated Kraftwerk
type ambience. Tons of analogue adrenalin fun as
well as murder by volume which makes this an album
to equate with a night out on cocaine with some
Sheffield gangsters. Hard stuff.
Track 8 'VBR' on Freenoise: Fusion (FCD01) is taken
from 'Format'.
